The neighbors.

I like where we live, because technically we are in the city limits, and we have a nice neighborhood area but we are far enough out of the city proper, and up in a wooded area, so even though it's a pretty big neighborhood, we have lots of trees and natural areas, with miles of trails for walking or bike riding.
We also have nice neighbors that sometimes stop and chat on the trails, like this:

We also like that sometimes they just drop by to visit, like this:

We also have a family of coyotes that sing us to sleep at night, though they are more shy and we don't see them around as much.
It's a nice neighborhood.

  2. I live one mile from the Detroit border. Detroit is not known for teeming wildlife. Unless you are talking about humans.

  3. Our house backs up to the local metropark and I love it! Very peaceful. But I still need to live less than a few minutes from the closest store. I am not sure I could handle the country. LOL.

  4. Wow,I think your Mooses beat out our bear for size. We do see porcupine squished on the roads but do not know if they have snuck in to munch without our knowing. Possums do as do tree rats and even ringed neck doves. Oh, coons are here frequently but quit raiding the squirrel feeder after I hooked up 120 volts to it one night. The raider screamed. They still come but don't attempt to climb the squirrel feeder tree. Now for the bears.

  6. Is that a Porcupine? So cool!

We have the singing coyotes too. I know I'm not supposed to like them, always missing cat signs in neighborhood, but I do like them. I like their singing. And I don't like cats.
